Community Development Committee Meeting
Our Position
Friends of Pierce County is in support of the county’s current amendment to add prohibitions based on the Environmental Consultant (ESA’s) recommendation of 38.3 and the addition of 19.1 miles of marine critical habitat.
It would be incomplete to prohibit only piers and docks and not direct changes to the shoreline itself from shoreline hard armoring. We ask that shoreline armoring be included in the amendment due to the detrimental impacts on salmon.
