Pierce
County is one of Washington's fastest-growing areas, and rapid
population growth raises concerns about livable communities,
congestion, pollution, and water quality. It's no longer up
to local governments to come up with solutions -- it takes
the efforts of all community members. A newly created local
nonprofit organization, Friends of Pierce County wants to
educate and empower residents to create livable communities
